JM Laroche dans son atelier

I discovered the work of Jean-Marc Laroche in 1994, when I received one of his fascinating sculptures as a trophy for my first Film, CRONOS. His work has continuously evolved enormously- mastering a great variety of materials and sculpture techniques.
His work is a unique and powerful synthesis of Life, death and raw power. I am in awe!

In 2002, Jean-Marc Laroche halted his work on knives, to create statuary of a more imposing size. These sculptures, often in bronze, can be found among private collections, but also in museums in France, Holland and Brazil.

During 2010, he created a series of expressive love making skeleton couples for an exhibition at the Museum of Eroticism in Paris with the title : « LES AMANTS DU NEANT »

"I am often asked where my fascination for the curious comes from.

In my childhood I remember reading « The Adventures of Tintin » by Hergé, who is himself no stranger to fantastic things. The Mummy of Rascar Capac and his Seven Cristal Balls particularly impressed me when I was around ten years old. Today they are a constant influence in my work".

"I am happy to present my new Web Site, and various creations of the last 15 years, from my first knives to the latest skeletons who, incidentely, I feel, in this case, are jibbing about permanence and the passing of time"."
